The Team |
Max – Sophomore – Lincoln Southeast High School
I started in 2012 with Charlie. We learned a lot in our first year. This year there we have more
new team members and that is really helpful because we now have actual programmers. We
have progressed a lot this year compared to the last year. Last year we didn’t get our robot fully
functioning till the very end of the year. I have been very interested in things like robotics from a
young age. Joining the Huskr Bot team has been a very good thing for me.
Ben – Sophomore – Lincoln East High School
I started in late 2013 with Max, Charlie, Riley, Tristan and Andrew. I started not doing a whole lot
but I think my opinion helped a ton. I learned a lot and feel that I have learned a lot. All the stuff
(building) was new to me but I think I handled it well. Being with team Huskr bot has been a
joyful experience to me and everyone in our team.
Riley – Junior – Lincoln Southeast High School
I started working with the team during the fall of 2013. I am mainly a programmer, with
experience in C, Obj-C, and C++, so I got to learn the variations in RobotC. I am NOT your
average hacker/coder, coding is a huge portion of my life. I’m glad I’m able to help out with the
team, I’m having a lot of fun and I think this is a great experience.
Andrew – Senior – Lincoln Southwest High School
I started in 2013 with Riley, Max, Ben, Tristan, and Charlie. I have experience in multiple
programming languages but I primarily use C#. I play the guitar and I also love to read. I was
invited by one of our mentors, Lori, after I worked at an internship at NebraskaGlobal with Riley.
I was glad to have been invited, and I look forward to the days we get together.
Charlie – Sophomore – Lincoln High School
I started in 2012 with Max. I am very interested in mechanical design. On the huskr bot team I
come up with a lot of the mechanical ideas for the robot although I need Max and Ben to keep
me in check. Huskr bot has become one of the best parts of my week and I always look forward
to our meetings. I love having more people on the team this year, it is great to have more heads
to bounce ideas off of and it is great to have real programmers as that was a duty that fell on me
last year.
Tristan – Freshman – Lincoln High School
I joined Huskr bot this year after detasseling with Charlie and being invited by Lori. I am an avid
programmer and frequent a makers group in Lincoln. I have some experience with electronics,
so I have wired (and re-wired) the robot. My experience with the team has been great, and I
have learned a lot from the other programmers on the team. Along with the other programmers I
feel that our robot will do very well. I do my best to balance our meetings with my hockey games
but I always work as hard as possible to make it to the meetings.
